Illustration.org Interview

Posted on:  January 5, 2011

Here’s a short interview I did with ILLUSTRATION.ORG during last November’s CTN Expo.  It reaffirmed two things for me:  1.)  My fat bulbous head needs it’s own zip code and, 2) I really mimic a Wibble Wobble really well. (watch that head shake!)

Listen to me talk about magic potions and advising everyone to act like kids. (I mean it figuratively of course but I you want to scream for mommy, go right ahead)

Many thanks to Santosh Oommen and the gang at illustration (dot) org for the opportunity.

AXIOTRON Lounge Feature

Posted on:  July 28, 2010

This got a little lost in the shuffle of the book release and Comic-Con but the good folks at AXIOTRON, makers of the original (and only) tablet solution for the Apple Macintosh have deemed me worthy of a feature in their Artist Lounge.

There is a short but informative interview where I talk about my digital workflow both at home and at work, as well as some my overall insights on digital art. The Axiotron Lounge feature is HERE.
Major thanks to Axiotron marketing head honcho Sigthor Markusson for the opportunity.

Philippine TV Interview

Posted on:  October 2, 2009

A few months ago I had the privilege of being interviewed by UNTV Philippines for their news magazine show called Bread n’ Butter. The segment features filipinos working abroad and their respective achievements.

The piece is in Tagalog which is the Philippine national language but I think it’s pretty obvious based on my replies (which are in english) what the questions are. Whats even more obvious is how I manage to fumble through the most basic of interviews. (Not to mention that it was done in the comfort of my own home)

Despite all that, It was a fun interview and I thank the good people of UNTV for the opportunity.

Character Design Interview

Posted on:  September 6, 2008

Recently I completed an interview with Randall Sly of the ever-popular CHARACTER DESIGN blog. If you want more insight regarding my way of thinking and what it means to be an a professional artist, check out the interview HERE.

And while you’re there, check out the ongoing Ebay auction of a one of a kind sketchbook compiled by Randall during this past Comic-Con in San Diego. The sale benefits one year old Parker Allen, a relative of Randall’s who is suffering from numerous infantile medical issues. Little Parker has an uphill battle but recently he received a new heart via transplant and things are looking up.

Click HERE to find out more information regarding Parker and the sketchbook which features myself as well as a host of incredibly talented people including Sean Galloway, Bobby Chiu, Kei Acedera, Chris Sanders, Octavio Rodriguez, Dice Tsusumi, Bill Presing, Frank Cho and many, many others.

M
y extreme gratitude goes to Randall for the opportunity and let’s hope and pray that little Parker pulls through. Below is a collage of the sketches.

Here’s a quick interview conducted by Kristine Borcz of Chicago Animators.  Can you count how many times I mention the name “Moebius“?
