Gesture Class 12
Posted on: September 28, 2009
A little break from the busy schedule on Kung Fu Panda 2 means… some Gesture Drawing Class time. This was from this past Monday. Done on Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Sketchbook Pro 2009 and of course, my always dependable Axiotron Moodbook.

Here’s a sampling of GESTURE DRAWINGS from two separate classes. There’s more of the robed woman for another post. The Samurai dude was pretty cool to draw.
Gesture Class 9

From Costumed Gestured Class today…… done on the Modbook and Adobe Photoshop. Sketched using PS default watercolor loaded wet flat tip brush, set at 8 pixels. Variable 5-40 percent opacity, 20 to 30 percent flow. Default canvas size is 10 x 6 inches at 100 mpx resolution.
Gesture Class 8 (and more..)
Posted on: October 21, 2008
Here are sketches from Monday’s GESTURE DRAWING CLASS done on my Modbook. Photoshop has been getting exclusive use lately due to work requirements and my ongoing book design. One of these days I know i’ll get a hankering to doing some drawing in Sketchbook Pro 2009. These where 2 and 3 minute poses. I used a modified flat brush with my opacity ranging from 40 to 80 at 100 percent flow. I added the shadows later.
Also, I did some sketching using traditional media during a recent family trip to Northern California. Done in pencil and watercolor. (those would be the final three images below)
Gesture Class 7

It’s been a few weeks so I made time yesterday for Gesture Drawing class. I couldn’t stay for the duration so I didn’t get to sketch a lot. And since i’ve been doing a lot of drawing lately in Photoshop, I stuck with it and gave Sketchbook Pro a little hiatus.

The Gesture Class was “feelin’ Polynesian” today. We had another 90 plus degree summer day in Southern California so the only thing missing was the ocean.
Gesture Class 5

Every second Monday is COSTUMED GESTURE CLASS and here’s a sampling from today’s session:
Sketched on the Modbook using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 2009 and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Gesture Class 4
Posted on: May 19, 2008

It’s Monday so it was time for another GESTURE CLASS. My output this week was a little on the low side but I did try sketching directly in Adobe Photoshop for a change. I also did some on Sketchbook Pro 2009 as usual.
These drawings are from five minute poses so I had some time to compose and be less sketchy. Then I added color aftewards.
